美國Scientific Systems, Inc.（SSI）是高效液相色譜儀的專業(yè)制造商,是實現(xiàn)HPLC系統(tǒng)真正商品化的首批廠家之一。美國Scientific Systems, Inc.自1967年成立以來一直致力于HPLC泵和其它部件的設(shè)計和生產(chǎn)，在這個方面具有世界最高水平的技術(shù)和生產(chǎn)設(shè)備，為目前世界四大制泵商一。1993年，SSI開始自行注冊LabAlliance商標(biāo)直接向市場供應(yīng)高效液相色譜儀器，憑借其優(yōu)質(zhì)、價廉的特性，很快在歐美市場贏得美譽。1994年其液相色譜儀器進(jìn)入中國市場，十年來擁有了大批用戶。該儀器的操作在《中國藥品檢驗標(biāo)準(zhǔn)操作規(guī)范》（2000版）有介紹。SSI高效液相色譜憑其過硬的質(zhì)量，向客戶做出免費保修三年的質(zhì)量承諾。  
科學(xué)系統(tǒng)公司（SSI）1967年成立于賓西法尼亞州立學(xué)院（也就是賓尼法尼亞大學(xué)的前身）。從公司成立至今，SSI公司主要從事精密儀器的加工生產(chǎn)和高壓流體技術(shù)方面的業(yè)務(wù)。雖然公司在州立學(xué)院只占地20000平方英尺，但是卻給全球范圍的用戶提供著高質(zhì)量的產(chǎn)品。
在20世紀(jì)60年代到70年代初，SSI公司生產(chǎn)高壓閥（最高壓力可達(dá)到100000PSI）和核工業(yè)用的其他組件產(chǎn)品。公司的這種生產(chǎn)能力在以后新的高效液相色譜即HPLC領(lǐng)域（在當(dāng)時看來是新的領(lǐng)域）再次得到了認(rèn)可。SSI公司與主要的廠商PE公司合作，在80年代初生產(chǎn)了10個系列的泵，以及其他一些液體流路產(chǎn)品。
從這個時期開始直到今天，SSI公司開發(fā)出了一系列的產(chǎn)品，其重點集中放在了成為主要HPLC行業(yè)供應(yīng)商上。由于重點放在了高壓活塞泵上，公司現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)具有了電子方面的專業(yè)技術(shù)和儀器的設(shè)計以及配套的測試技術(shù)。公司的創(chuàng)新能力體現(xiàn)在泵柱塞桿的自動清洗設(shè)計和高壓脈沖消除器的設(shè)計，另外，公司的其他核心產(chǎn)品的閥和其他流路產(chǎn)品也繼續(xù)在生產(chǎn)供給。

1994年，SSI公司成立了一個分銷公司LabAlliance，其主要是提供完整的HPLC系統(tǒng)，以及配件和軟件。LabAlliance建立了可以提供檢測器，自動進(jìn)樣器，餾份收集器和數(shù)據(jù)采集控制軟件的網(wǎng)絡(luò)。這些合作者允許LabAlliance公司通過全球的分銷網(wǎng)絡(luò)銷售整個HPLC系統(tǒng)線的產(chǎn)品。LabAlliance的泵和檢測器在中國有著很大的市場，其他第三世界國家對這種精確的化學(xué)分析儀器的需要也正在增長。

Scientific Systems, Inc. (SSI) was established in 1967 in State College, Pennsylvania, home of Penn State University. From the inception of the company through today, SSI has specialized in precision machining and high pressure fluid technology. The company maintains current operations in a 20,000 sq. ft. facility in State College, and maintains a worldwide customer base for its high technology products. 
During the 1960s and early 70s, SSI produced ultra high pressure valves (up to 100,000 p.s.i.) and other components for the nuclear industry. This capability was later recognized by manufactures in the new field (at that time) of High Performance Liquid Chromatography, or HPLC. Working with a major supplier, Perkin-Elmer, SSI produced the Series-10 pump for this company through the early 80s, as well as other critical fluid path components.
From this time period through today, SSI has developed a wide portfolio of products, and has focused on becoming a premier supplier to the HPLC industry. With an emphasis on high pressure, positive displacement pumps, the company has a full engineering expertise in electrical and mechanical design as well as comprehensive machining, assembly and test operations. Innovative features like automatic piston wash and high pressure pulse dampeners have been developed and the core product line of valves and other fluid path components has also been maintained. 
In 1994, SSI achieved ISO-9001 certification, and this recognition continues today. The company maintains a rigorous documentation control system, a clean, well maintained facility and pursues continuous improvement throughout all operations. Through these disciplines, SSI maintains the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction, along with full service capability. 
Also in 1994, SSI launched a distribution division called LabAlliance, dedicated to providing a complete line of HPLC systems, accessories and software. LabAlliance established a comprehensive supply chain with manufacturers of Detectors, Autosamplers, Fraction Collectors and Data Acquisition & Control Software. These partnerships allow LabAlliance to supply a full line of HPLC systems through a worldwide network of distributors. LabAlliance pumps and detectors have found a major market niche in China and other third world countries where the need for accurate chemical analysis continues to grow. 
Today, SSI continues to provide pumps and components to major OEM instrument manufacturers, including Waters Corporation, Dionex Corporation and PerkinElemer Life & Analytical Sciences. Ultra High Pressure Pumps and Components (up to 18,000 p.s.i.) have also been added to the product line. The company’s products are highly regarded for their reliability, ease of use and value.
