1896年 Riichi Satake 先生在日本創(chuàng)立了 SATAKE 公司，是現(xiàn)任董事長(zhǎng) Toshiko Satake 女士的祖父，這家公司最早在日本推出電動(dòng)稻米磨粉機(jī)，將米磨成米漿。經(jīng)過(guò)百多年來(lái)的努力和發(fā)展，成為各種谷物設(shè)備制造的大公司，在食品市場(chǎng)占有重要的一席之地。1980年在美國(guó)德州休斯敦?fù)碛蟹止荆?991年時(shí)將英國(guó)的面粉設(shè)備工廠納入旗下，成為多元經(jīng)營(yíng)的跨國(guó)大企業(yè)。
類似這種企業(yè)的發(fā)展，早期從最簡(jiǎn)單的機(jī)械制造開始，逐漸的踏入食品制造的領(lǐng)域，各種不同的原料可以發(fā)展出廣泛的食品制品出來(lái)，其規(guī)模越來(lái)越大，產(chǎn)品越來(lái)越多，觸角越來(lái)越廣，在自由化及國(guó)際化的趨勢(shì)之下，總有一天會(huì)在全世界各地制造銷售該公司的系列產(chǎn)品，他山之石可以攻錯(cuò)，企業(yè)經(jīng)營(yíng)需要有眼光及魄力。
SATAKE 公司 UK Division
日本 SATAKE 公司擁有一家英國(guó)老字號(hào)的磨粉機(jī)械公司，在此敘述英國(guó)分公司的歷史。早在1878年時(shí)，所有的磨坊都是采用石磨將谷物磨制成粉，但是Henry Simon先生在那一年推出了他所設(shè)計(jì)的第一座采用滾輪磨粉機(jī)的制粉工廠，這位機(jī)械設(shè)計(jì)天才將原本石磨的時(shí)代改變?yōu)闄C(jī)械滾輪磨粉的新時(shí)代。他的工廠位于英國(guó)的曼撤斯特，磨粉系統(tǒng)稱為「Gradual Reduction」。
在1881年時(shí)，Henry Simon先生為 McDougall Brother 建造一座整套全世界最先進(jìn)的自動(dòng)滾輪磨粉面粉工廠，這項(xiàng)成就震驚了整個(gè)工業(yè)界。到了1892年，英國(guó)、歐洲、非洲、印度、南非、澳洲及日本等地，已經(jīng)有四百多家面粉工廠采用「Simon」系統(tǒng)的磨粉設(shè)備。短短二十年之內(nèi)，他已經(jīng)將面粉的傳統(tǒng)磨制方式革命性的改變成他發(fā)明的系統(tǒng)。
在英國(guó)Lancashire地區(qū)的 Rochdale 有家 Thomas Robinson & Son 父子公司，在1838年時(shí)從事木材生意，約在1882年他們發(fā)現(xiàn)經(jīng)營(yíng)磨粉設(shè)備是一項(xiàng)擴(kuò)充事業(yè)的好機(jī)會(huì)，利用現(xiàn)有的商店、工廠及裝配零件改為生產(chǎn)銷售制粉設(shè)備大有可為，1884年 Thomas Robinson & Son 父子公司宣告他們可以生產(chǎn)制造全套的面粉工廠磨粉設(shè)備。
Henry Simon 有限公司成立于1897年，而 Thomas Robinson & Son 父子公司則成立于1880年，早期 Henry Simon 將他所設(shè)計(jì)的機(jī)器在歐洲販賣時(shí)，他在1902年建造屬于自己的機(jī)械工廠。這兩家公司各自在制粉設(shè)備市場(chǎng)上經(jīng)營(yíng)了超過(guò)一個(gè)世紀(jì)，占有大部份的外銷市場(chǎng)比例。到了1988年10月份的時(shí)候，兩家公司合并為Robinson Milling Systems Ltd.，又在1991年時(shí)被 SATAKE 集團(tuán)并購(gòu)為 Satake Robinson UK Ltd.，不久改名為 Satake UK Ltd.。1998年正式稱為 Satake UK Division，Satake的英國(guó)分部。
追根究底為何日本的 SATAKE 公司會(huì)并購(gòu)英國(guó)的公司？日本的 Riichi Satake 先生在1896年成立磨粉公司，得力于來(lái)自蘇格蘭的 Douglas 和 Grant 兩位先生的技術(shù)指導(dǎo)，而 Henry Simon 先生則是在1898年首度引進(jìn)他的制粉設(shè)備到日本的長(zhǎng)崎，這些歷史因素創(chuàng)造出合作機(jī)緣。
