歐洲生物技術(shù)聯(lián)盟是一家非營(yíng)利協(xié)會(huì)，由歐洲所有致力于生物技術(shù)推廣的國(guó)家與跨國(guó)學(xué)術(shù)團(tuán)體、大學(xué)、學(xué)院、企業(yè)和個(gè)人組成。

歐洲生物技術(shù)聯(lián)盟（ E FB）由歐洲科學(xué)家于1978年創(chuàng)辦，目的是為了促進(jìn)歐洲工業(yè)界和學(xué)術(shù)界的生物技術(shù)專家之間的合作，并采用一種社會(huì)上和道德上都可接受的方式來(lái)推廣生物技術(shù)；通過(guò)支持健康的科學(xué)以及工程和技術(shù)的應(yīng)用，促進(jìn)生命科學(xué)領(lǐng)域自然資源的安全、可持續(xù)的有益利用；促進(jìn)人們及其觀點(diǎn)的交流，為專家學(xué)者和研究生組織課題，并促進(jìn)歐洲的技術(shù)創(chuàng)新，以達(dá)到推動(dòng)生物技術(shù)進(jìn)步的共同目標(biāo)。
E FB目前正啟動(dòng)一些進(jìn)行機(jī)遇評(píng)估與開發(fā)的活動(dòng)，以促進(jìn)歐盟和一些主要的國(guó)家和地區(qū)（如中國(guó)、東南亞和南美）在生物技術(shù)方面達(dá)成合作和建立戰(zhàn)略合作伙伴關(guān)系。
現(xiàn)在在歐洲，參與 E FB活動(dòng)的科學(xué)家和學(xué)者已經(jīng)超過(guò)了1000多人。此外，EFB還設(shè)立了很多的工作組，研究和提供有關(guān)生物技術(shù)使用和應(yīng)用方面以及相關(guān)的道德和安全方面的公共認(rèn)識(shí)和高質(zhì)量信息。

Established by European scientists in 1978, the European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB) is Europe’s non-profit federation of National Biotechnology Associations, Learned Societies, Universities, Scientific Institutes, Biotech Companies and individual biotechnologists working to promote biotechnology throughout Europe and beyond.
The mission of EFB is to promote the safe, sustainable and beneficial use of the life sciences, to promote research and innovation at the cutting edge of biotechnology, to provide a forum for interdisciplinary and international cooperation, to improve scientific education and to facilitate an informed dialogue between scientists and the public.
With 108 Institutional members from across Europe and 13.500 personal members, the EFB has 14 Regional Branch Offices in Europe to support its activities in the various areas of biotechnology covered by the Federation.
The EFB Central Office (ECO) is located in Barcelona, Spain. Membership administration, organization of Executive Board meetings and General Assemblies, website management and organization of the European Congresses on Biotechnology are some of the main responsibilities of ECO.
